Violating traffic rules, an underage rider negotiates traffic in Ludhiana.
Underage driving has been rampant in the industrial town, thanks to the lackadaisical attitude of the authorities and lack of responsibility among parents. Unmindful of the consequences of such driving, families, especially those belonging to the elite class, allow to their wards to drive their way to schools. Some underage students even drive luxury cars to schools in violation of the directives of their school authorities.

Couple arrested in dowry case

The Ludhiana (rural) police has arrested Amarjit Singh and his wife Rajwant Kaur of Sudhar village, who along with three other persons had been booked under Sections 406, 498 A and 120 of IPC for allegedly harassing the daughter of a local Congress leader for bringing meager dowry.

The police claimed to have got a major breakthrough with the arrest of four members of a gang of women highway robbers.
