Some unidentified miscreants decamped with 300 bags of paddy from a sheller near Urna village, falling under the Machiwara police station, on Friday night.

Appointment letters were issued here today to as many as 251 B.Ed teachers of master cadre and around 440 JBT teachers by the education department, Punjab, and were asked to report at the place of their posting tomorrow. All appointments of the secondary and primary teachers have been made on a contractual basis for a period of three-and-a-half years.
