The confrontation between the PGI administration and Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) escalated further today with the doctors announcing their decision to go on an indefinite strike from tomorrow and hospital authorities threatening strict action against them by evoking ESMA.

Woman immolates herself, dies
Chandigarh, October 19
Stung by constant nagging of her in-laws for being unable to conceive, a 25-year-old woman allegedly immolated herself at her Ram Darbar residence, late last night. The police arrested the victim’s husband, Pintu, on the charges of dowry death, following a complaint lodged by her father.

Men from public to keep tab on traffic cops

77,488 get anti-polio drops
