The Chandigarh administration adopts double standards while resuming sites.
Citing building violations or misuse of premises, the estate office has resumed
property worth crores which include commercial plots or sites in the city which
could, otherwise, generate revenue by way of taxes while bhawans in city,
besides being served resumption notices continue to rake moolah through
‘illegal’ commercial activities.

Man gets 10-yr jail for possessing 10 kg heroin

Additional District and Sessions Judge R.S. Attri today sentenced Gurmukh Singh to undergo 10 years rigorous imprisonment for possessing 10 kg heroin. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on him.
