PAN card drive to begin from Sept-end

The Income Tax Department has suspended the issuance of Permanent Account Number (PAN) for the people of Chandigarh region with effect from today. Members of the Technical Services Union of the Punjab State Electricity Board held a gate rally outside the office of the subdivision Tech II here today in protest against the alleged manhandling of a junior engineer (JE) by a Phase XI resident. Krishanjit gets charge of CHB CE

Two killed, 2 injured in accidents

Two persons were killed and two were injured in separate accidents here today. A newly married couple met with an accident near village Daun today. Move over ICL, Haryana bats for new cricket format

If you are bored of ICL and IPL, then here is a new format of cricket formed by the Super-Cricket Association under the name “Haryana Super-Cricket Association” to provide full entertainment to the cricket fans, this was announced in a press conference, here today. The association will work under the agies of the Indian Super-Cricket Federation, which is affiliated to the International Super-Cricket committee. The headquarters of the Indian national body is situated at Luckhnow.

14 cases of liquor seized

The local police has arrested Gulshan Kumar, a resident of Sector 45, here, from Mataur barrier on September 9, and seized 14 cases of liquor from his car (PB-65-1956). A case has been registered under Sections 61 and 114 of the Excise Act in Sector 36 police post.
