Govt to oppose Ravi-Beas link-II

Building bylaws: MC officials chargesheeted

The state government and the local Municipal Corporation have started tightening the noose around the neck of corporation officials for ignoring bylaws for benefiting the owners of some multiplexes and hotels. Taking up Punjab’s former director-general of Police (DGP) S.S. Virk’s petition for restoration of security, Justice Ajay Kumar Mittal of the Punjab and Haryana High Court today directed that the current security arrangement would not be withdrawn till the next date of hearing.

HC: Pb home secy, DGP fail to act against resiling witnesses

The Punjab and Haryana High Court believes that the Punjab home secretary and the DGP have failed “to put the House in order and advance the course of justice”, while dealing with the matter of resiling witnesses.
