PU authorities defend felling of trees

Finally, after days of silence, the Panjab University authorities today came out with their side of the story regarding the felling of trees on the campus. In a press conference organised today, jointly addressed by the registrar S.S. Bari, Prof Kehar Singh, PU fellow and former chief conservator of forest, former judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice S.K. Jain, it was clarified that no breach of law under the Indian Forest Act has taken place in felling of 149 trees on the campus.

Seminar on research methodology today

A one-day seminar is being organised by the department of geography, PU, on research methodology in social sciences on March 29 under the XI plan-UGC-merged scheme for faculty improvement program. The major purpose of the seminar is to acquaint the participants with recent developments/improvements in the field of research methodology. Prof G.S. Students of DAV Public Senior Secondary School, Mohali, excelled in the Class VIII examination conducted by the DAV Education Board by securing cent per cent result.
