Triple murder rocks Adampur Jalandhar, July 9 According to police, Charanjit Singh eliminated his wife Narinder Kaur and sons Harpreet (5) and Simranjeet (4) as he wanted to stay with his paramour after grabbing his spouse’s property worth rupees
several lakhs. Adampur SHO Jasbir Singh said the accused after committing the crime placed the bodies on a double bed and set them on fire, apparently to give the triple murder shape of
an accident. However, Narinder’s cousin Satnam Singh, who stays in the adjoining house, got suspicious. When he tried to enquire about the matter from Charanjit, the latter fled from the spot. Satnam informed police who managed to nab the accused on Monday. SHO Jasbir said Charanjit got married to Narinder Kaur in 2000. After some time, Narinder’s parents died. Since half of the family property was registered in Narinder’s name, she along with her husband shifted to Khichipur. According to preliminary investigation, Charanjit had illicit relations with his sister-in-law, a widow and resident of village Patara. He was constantly pressurising his wife sell her village property as he wanted to stay in Patara. But Narinder had outrightly rejected his proposal as she was aware of her husband’s affair, the SHO added. A case has been registered. |
