As expected, the Punjab Government decided to appoint Ramesh Inder Singh and NPS Aulakh as Chief Secretary and Director-General of Police. Since both Ramesh Inder Singh and NPS Aulakh are on deputation with the Union Government, present incumbents KR Lakhanpal and Rajdeep Singh Gill will continue to hold the fort till their successors report back for new assignments.
