Modi chides Centre on Guru’s mercy plea

Jalandhar, February 4 Since journalists routinely cover celebrity and VIP functions, they write the press notes in a better way. Some of the “smart” politicians have employed desk journalists on contract as they are good in writing “crisp” copy. At a function organised by the Congress candidate at Nurmahal recently, the well-drafted note was given before the start of the function. It even quoted the leaders who were expected to attend. Recently, when a battery of reporters reached to cover a rally at Adampur, the candidate greeted the cameras with broad smiles. Some of the “hired” journalists even requested their counterparts to click the candidate photos in the right posture. This arrangement by the politician is in addition to the PR agencies hired by the respective political party to highlight the achievements of the party. The Congress candidate from Kapurthala has set up a special media centre near the bus stand in Kapurthala. The candidate has employed a former employee of the Director Public Relations, Punjab, to draft notes. Three compositors are employed to type the notes in English, Hindi and Punjabi. The candidate has also hired “journalists” to file the report for the media centre also. One vehicle is deployed round the clock to deliver the notes and photos in various newspaper offices. |
