Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal.

Rain/thundershowers have also occurred at most places in Punjab and west Rajasthan and at a few places in Haryana. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

The chief amounts of precipitation in cm. are: Himachal Pradesh: Bhuntar and Kalpa 2 each and Shimla and Sundernagar 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal 9, Batote 7, Bhaderwah and Quazigund 5 each, Katra 4 and Jammu, Kupwara, Pahalgam and Srinagar 2 each and Punjab: Amritsar 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures rose in Haryana, east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were largely above normal in east Rajasthan, markedly above normal in Haryana, west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 8.3º C recorded in Amritsar (Punjab).

FORECAST (valid until the morning of December 7): Rain/snow will occur at most places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers will occur at a few places in north Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in south Haryana and north Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING: Heavy to very heavy snowfall is likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Decrease in precipitation. Night temperatures are likely to fall in the region with fog or mist over some areas in the plains of the region.

FORECAST FOR DELHI AND NEIGHBOURHOOD: Cloudy sky with the possibility of light rain in some areas. Mist/shallow fog in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 14º C.
