Teachers flay govt move: The Haryana College Teachers’ Association (HCTA) has condemned the Private Universities Bill passed by the Haryana Assembly. In a statement here on Friday CHTA general secretary Rajbir Parashar said by giving permission to open private universities the Haryana Government had left education in the hands of traders and the decision was not only anti-people but also anti-education.
Theft cases solved: The district police after intensive interrogation of Lifti, gang leader of motor-cycle thieves, has solved as many as six more cases of stealing motor cycles from different parts of the state. Lifti was arrested by the police following a complaint lodged by Gurcharan Singh of Habri alleging that some miscreants had tried to forcibly snatch his vehicle in June.

Licences issued: As many as 500 students of DAV Girls College here were issued learners driving licences at a special camp organised by the District Licencing Authority on Friday. Inaugurating the camp, SDM (Jagadhri) Narinder Singh said the camp was held for the benefit for girl students .
