Treatment of the infant girl, who had allegedly been left, to be suffocated to death in a plastic bag and thrown on an empty plot of land at Kup Kalan village near here two days ago has been taken up by the civil administration.
Banda Bahadur Chair in varsity sought

I-Day fervour at vet varsity

Independence day was celebrated at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, with great enthusiasm.
Mr D.S. Bains, Vice-Chancellor, unfurled the flag and inspected NCC cadets of the College of Veterinary Science.
He paid tributes to martyrs.

Independence Day at the Subdivision level was celebrated with fervour at the grain market here today. Mr Arshdeep Singh Thind, SDM, Amloh, unfurled the tricolour and took the salute at a march past presented by NCC cadets and scouts.It was followed by a cultural programme organised by elementary, high and secondary schools of Amloh and Mandi gobindgarh area.
Rally against foeticide
Ludhiana, August 15
Students and staff of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School organised a rally today against foeticide and dowry.
The rally was flagged off from by the SSP. Five thousand students, led by the chairman-cum-Director of the school, Mr Rajesh
Rudhra. The students carried banners depicting the doom of the country if foeticide goes unabated.
