Rainfall: Rain, thundershowers have occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Guhla and Rewari 2 each and Hissar 1, Himachal Pradesh: Hamirpur 5, Shimla 3, Kandaghat and Solan 2 each, Barsar, Sundernagar, Dhundhi and Dharampur 1 each Punjab: Amritsar 1 and Jammu and Kashmir: Udhampur, Batote and Bhaderwah 2 each, Jammu, Quaziqund, Banihal, Phalgam and Katra 1 each.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell in Himachal Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: This was above normal in east Uttar Pradesh, markedly below normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 42.3°C recorded at Varanasi A.P. (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 18: Rain, thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and at a few places in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh. Isolated dust-storm, thunderstorm is likely in Haryana, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Isolated thundersquall is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal and east Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of June 18: Mainly clear sky with dust haze. Duststrom, thunderstorm accompanied with squall is likely in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 40°C.
