Jalandhar
Grenade found
: A live hand grenade was recovered by a gangman on the rail track three kilometer from the Kala Bakra village on Tuesday. The gangman of the railway staff was taking a round on the tracks when he spotted the grenade. He informed the Railway Police. The SP, Railway, Tulsi Ram, reached the spot and took the grenade in his possession. As a precautionary measure, the movement of the Jammu Tawi Express was stopped for over an hour.

Phagwara
Protest march
: Hundreds of activists belonging to Bhartiya Janata Party and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, led by former minister Chaudhary Swarna Ram, organised a demonstration and protest march in Phagwara on Tuesday against the Centre’s announcement to increase the prices of petrol and diesel.

House burgled: In yet another incident of burglary in Phagwara, thieves decamped with cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 80,000 from a house in Guru Nanak Pura locality on Monday night.

6 injured in clash
: Six persons sustained serious injuries in a clash that took place between two groups on Sunday at Sahuwas village, under Charkhi Dadri subdivision. The injured have been admitted to the Civil Hospital, Charkhi Dadri . One of the injured has been referred to Bhiwani. According to a report, an altercation over a trivial matter led to the clash between two groups.

Yamunanagar
Man dies in mishap
: Twentyfive-year-old Satish of Tigda village here was killed when his scooter met with an accident with a tractor-trailer near Dusani village on Monday. The tractor-trailer driver fled from the spot leaving his vehicle behind. A case has been registered against him.

100 pc pass result: Mukand Lal Public School, Yamunanagar, has registered 100 per cent pass result. Ankita Puri has brought laurels to the school securing 93.2 per cent, including 100 per cent in maths. Varun Verma secured 98 per cent marks in social science. School Principal, Mrs Bathla, stated this in a press note issued here on Tuesday.
