BJP begins groundwork for elections

The BJP has formally started preparations for the forthcoming elections to the state Assembly. Mr R.P Singh, the deputy in charge of the party affairs for Punjab and a member of the national executive, is currently in the city to have feedback from the workers, leaders and councillors.

Employees to launch phased agitation against govt policies
Ludhiana, June 4
The Punjab Employees Action Committee has decided to launch a phased agitation against the anti-employees policies of the state government. In the first phase of the stir, the employees will hold a state-level “anti-repression’rally and protest march at Hoshiarpur on July 6.
Pakistan summons meeting of Sikh representatives

The Pakistan Government has summoned a meeting of representatives of Sikhs in Lahore on June 6 to finalise the programme to observe the 400th martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev.
