Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh, at isolated places in Haryana, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: East Rajasthan: Pilani 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell markedly in east Uttar Pradesh, fell in west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were markedly above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, largely below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, appreciably below normal in west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 45.8C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 18: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in east Rajasthan. Weather will mainly be dry in the rest of the region. Isolated thunder-squalls are likely in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 18: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rain/thundery development accompanied with squall in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 40 °C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of May 18: Light rain is likely at a few places. Squall with wind speed exceeding 65 kmph is likely at isolated places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
