Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose appreciably in east Uttar Pradesh, rose in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, markedly below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, appreciably below normal in Uttaranchal, below normal in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.°4C recorded at Bikaner (Rajasthan).
