Departure: They were above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, largely below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, appreciably below normal in Himachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, below normal in Haryana and Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 38.9°C recorded at Rawatbhata (Rajasthan).
