Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell in Haryana and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Punjab and Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.8°C recorded at Varanasi AP (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 6, 2006: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Punjab and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of April 6, 2006: Mainly clear sky. The maximum temperature will be around 36°C.
