Pushpinder had allegedly fleeced the public of crores of rupees after carving out the illegal colony and had been absconding since then.

The official claimed that the said coloniser never obtained PUDA’s permission nor deposited the requisite fee for carving out a colony.

Doe-eyed Neerma’s childhood memories of India start with Kolkata, her Punjabi mother’s city, she visited with her when she was seven. The connection has time and again filled the heart of this Pakistani actress for “the culture that binds people on both sides of the border.”

The loss of her father, a Civil Engineer, in Kuwait, when she was nine, made her grow faster than other girls of her age. Life took her to a new path that gave her the glory, the stardom of being one of Pakistan’s most acclaimed actresses.

“Eight years into the industry, I have done both TV and films. An actor in Pakistan needs to do TV dramas, as most acclaimed writers and directors work on this medium. The size of the Pakistan film industry is small, and an actress cannot restrict herself to films only.”

“Film making is expensive and risky. Therefore, even the artists charge less.”

Though she agrees that heroines may be showpieces in commercial films, but “there is room for those wanting to do meaningful cinema.”

Now she is in Jalandhar for “Sanjh Dilon Ki”, a Bollywood film which aims to “portray the shared emotions of people from both sides of the border.” The script of the film has been written by the Divisional Commissioner, Jalandhar, Mr Swarn Singh. The movie is being produced by Prem Gandhi and directed by Anees Bazmi of “No Entry” fame.

Neerma is also doing “Lahore”— the new film by Govind Nihlani, which also stars Saif Ali Khan.

On the Pakistani actress Meera’s controversial scenes in the film “Nazar”, Neerma says that what Meera did was her choice.
