The minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Punjab, rose in Haryana and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were largely above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, markedly above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, west Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, and appreciably above normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 9.8C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).
