Dinesh G. Shinde of Maharashtra claimed gold in the 45 kg category in karate. The silver medal went to Sahil Sood of DAV College Management. S. Deepam of Tamil Nadu won the gold medal in the 50 kg category, defeating Abhishek Rana of DAVMC in the final. Muninder Kumar of Assam got gold medal as he defeated Gaurav Rana of DAVMC in the final bout of the 55 kg category. Aanchal School
athletes impress Chandigarh, February 5 Led by school captain Vishwaprem, the students marched past the audience in complete synchronisation to the beats of the drum. Captains and vice-captains carried the standards of their respective houses. The Director of the school took the salute. Parents of the junior wing appeared overwhelmed to see the tiny tots walking smartly in colourful track suits with pompoms in hand. All students of the school were made to participate in various games and races such as hoopla umbrella race, placement of balls, number hunt, obstacle race, 50m, 100m, 200m, three-legged, relay race and many others. Medals were presented to the winners of the track and field events. Parents enthusiastically took part in various games organised for them. The chief guest, Dr Deshbandhu, principal of SD College, Ambala, appreciated the inculcation of confidence in children and congratulated the principal and staff for their efforts. The school principal, Mrs M. Sood, applauded the children for their enthusiasm and wished them luck for their forthcoming examinations. Tarunjot, Vansh, Jasmine, Ananya, Abhishek and Sachin were the main winners among the juniors whereas amongst the seniors Vishwprem, Prayjot and Aman won the prizes. |
