Rainfall:
Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24-hour change: The minimum temperatures fell appreciably in west Uttar Pradesh, fell in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were markedly below normal in Punjab, appreciably below normal in Haryana, west Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, below normal in east Rajasthan, above normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 2.6°C recorded at Adampur (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 8: Rain/snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Low temperature warning: Ground frost is likely at a few places in Punjab and north Rajasthan during the next two nights.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 8: Partly cloudy sky. Mist/Fog in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 4°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi: forecast valid until the morning of January 8: Sky will be partly cloudy.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
