Students excel

Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, who represented Guru Nanak Dev University at the University of Jammu in the recently concluded North Zone Youth Festival, win the overall trophy for the sixth time in a row.

Dr Sucharita, Principal, said the students participated in maximum number of events. They performed in 14 items out of which they got the first prize in 11 and third prize in three.

Book fair

Lawrence International School organised a book fair for children and parents this week. The fair was opened by Mr Jodh Raj Gupta, Chairman of the school, and Mr V.K. Mehta, Principal. Books were displayed under various sections including fiction, science, educational games, home learning, classics, quiz, folklore, history and biography.

Camp held

Students of Guru Nanak Mission Public Senior Secondary School donated 50 units of blood during a camp organised this week. The students participated in an on-the-spot-painting competition on the topics “Clean environment-green environment” and “Women empowerment”. Sartaj Kaur, a student of B.Sc. (II), stood first in the contest.

Song competition

Victor Model Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar Cantonment, organised a group song competition here today. Ms Usha Sharma, Principal, presided over the event and distributed prizes to the winners. The team from SD Model School stood first, followed by those from Mayor World School and Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2.

Old students’ meet

An old students’ meet was organised at BD Arya College on Saturday. Mr Swaraj Mohan, Director, and Dr Sarita Verma, Principal, welcomed the students. The old students lit the ceremonial lamp. The students held a cultural show for their entertainment. TNS
