Fire in Kabadi Market
Chandigarh, November 2
A fire cracker which strayed into Kabadi Market of Sector 55 resulted in a major fire this evening. The heaps of scrap including plastic, wood, paper and cardboard lying in the open “helped” the fire to spread in all directions.

5 fire incidents reported in Mohali
Mohali, November 2
Goods worth thousands were destroyed in five fire incidents that took place in the township on Divali night. All these incidents were caused by burning rocket crackers. The fire brigade remained busy throughout the night.

In a fire that broke at a furniture manufacturing unit in Industrial Area here late tonight goods worth lakhs of rupees were suspected to be reduced to ashes.
The fire broke at Aarkay Furnishers, Phase II, Industrial Area.

Villagers block traffic, seek action against killers

Angry residents of Hangola village blocked the Panchkula-Naraingarh national highway for over three hours yesterday, by placing the bodies of Ajmer Singh and Nirmal Singh, who were killed in a land dispute on Monday, on the highway.

Recommendations of A.V.Singh panel report implemented

The much-awaited implementation of the A.V. Singh Committee recommendations for Army doctors has finally come through. The implementation of the report will ensure faster promotions for officers in the Army Medical Corps, the Army Dental Corps and the Remount and Veterinary Corps.
