Kindergarten a wild mix of colours
Mohali, October 31 Then it dawns upon you. The tiny hands of school’s young students have given colour to these walls. The end result is a beautiful and a wild mix of colours and hand prints. And this is also the USP of this school- a ‘hands-on’ experience can teach you much more than lectures. The number of students in the school have been kept limited so that every child gets personal attention of the teacher in charge of the class explains, Ms Nakai. Starting from the playway up to upper kindergarten the school houses just about 120 students. But why a kindergarten for YPS? You wonder. “We needed good students to join our junior school. And what better than having these students with us from a young age. Since every KG school in the area was graduating to bigger classes there was a dearth of young students who have been nurtured well in this age. We decided to do it ourselves,” said Dr Harish Dhillon, school Principal. And then began the Herculean and painstaking but extremely fulfilling task of converting an old, unused building in one corner of the school into the vibrant KG section of the school. “The old building was nothing but a forlorn set of walls. And what you see today is a result of love’s labour. Knowing that this would be the first school of their life, we had to make it special for them,” points out Col. Ramesh Pathania, the school bursar. |
