55 in Maloya show STD symptoms
Chandigarh, September 4
As many as 55 cases with sexually transmitted disease (STD) symptoms were detected during the family health awareness campaign held at Maloya today. Of the total cases, 44 were women while 11 were men. The camp was organised to determine the extent of STD cases which are dominant causes of HIV/AIDS among people. Studies have shown that the susceptibility to HIV/AIDS increases six to 10 fold in patients detected STDs.

Low awareness about HIV among paramedical staff

A study has highlighted low awareness about HIV among para-medical staff in the armed forces and incorrect attitude on their part towards management of HIV infection.
