Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Sundernagar 5, Kasol 3, Sujanpurtira 2 and Bhang, Bangana, Guler, Nadaun, Pandoh and Solangnala 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Katra and Srinagar 1 each, east Uttar Pradesh: Regoli and Birdghat 13 each, Kakrahi 11, Bansi 10, Turtipar 9, Basti 6, Gorakhpur and Mukhlishpur 5 each, Kakardharighat and Neemsar 4 each, Ballia and Ghazipur 3 each, Balrampur and Katerniaghat 2 each and Bhing, Bahraich and Palliakalan 1 each and Uttaranchal: Dehra-Dun 12, Bausan 6, Haridwar 4, Uttarkashi 3, Haripur and Rudraprayag 2 each and Banbasa and Rishikesh 1 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 27: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan.
