Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh, at many places in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Ambala 1, Himachal Pradesh: Bangana 10, Bharwain 6, Barsar 5, Berthin, Nadaun and Sundernagar 3 each, Kasol, Shimla and Sujanpurtira 2 each and Guler, Khairi, Nagrotasurian, Pandoh, Sunibhaji and Solangnala 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Basoli 3 and Patti 2, Punjab: Madhopur 3, Ranjit sagar dam and Shahpurkandi 2 each and Ropar 1, East Uttar Pradesh: Mukhlishpur 19, Ghazipur 14, Gorakhpur 13, Shardanagar 10, Birdghat 9, Basti 8, Katerniaghat and Mirzapur 7 each, Ayodhya, Bansi, Kanpur, Kakrahi, Regoli and Varanasi city 3 each, Sultanpur 2 and Ballia, Balrampur, Jaunpur, Turtipar and Varanasi AP 1 each, and Uttaranchal: Pantnagar 6, Banbasa 3 and Dehra Dun 2.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 26: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana and east Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan.
