The Punjab and Haryana High Court today paid homage to former Chief Justice Mr Justice Ranjit Singh Narula, who passed away on June 1. A Full Court reference was made when the High Court re-opened after the summer vacation.

Mohali resident’s purse snatched
Chandigarh, July 1
A scooterist snatched the purse of a woman in the city. In another incident, a man was held while he was allegedly selling liquor illegally. The police also arrested four persons on the charge of assaulting a city resident.

Cop held for harassing wife
Panchkula, July 1
A constable posted at the Wireless Office of the police, has been arrested by the Kalka police on charges of assaulting his wife, who in also a police constable. A case under Sections 323 and 506 of the IPC has been registered against constable Devi Dass on a complaint filed by his wife, Gurvinder Kaur.
