Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in west Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm. are: Himachal Pradesh: Bhuntar 2; and Jammu and Kashmir: Srinagar 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose appreciably in east Uttar Pradesh, fell appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably below normal in Punjab, below normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 43.2°C recorded at Varanasi A.P. (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 12: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 12: Mainly clear sky. The maximum temperature will be around 38°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of May 12: Sky will be mainly clear.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
