Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose in Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were markedly below normal in Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, appreciably below normal in Haryana, Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in Jammu and Kashmir. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 39.6ºC recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).
