New Delhi, May 6
Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal and Quazigund 1 each.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose in Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were markedly below normal in Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, appreciably below normal in Haryana, Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in Jammu and Kashmir. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 39.6ºC recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 8: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh,Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and east Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 8: Partly cloudy sky. The maximum temperature will be around 38ºC.
