Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in Punjab and Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm. are: Haryana: Rewari 3 and Rania and Sirsa 2 each, Himachal Pradesh: Arki, Barsar and Kasauli 2 each and Bangana, Kahu and Kasol 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Kupwara and Srinagar 1 each, Punjab: Balachaur 3, Ferozepore 2 and Garhshankar and Ropar 1 each, East Rajasthan: Jaipur 1, West Rajasthan: Jaisalmer 1, East Uttar Pradesh: Lucknow 3 and Sultanpur 1 and Uttaranchal: Dehra Dun 1.

Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose appreciably in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, rose in east Rajasthan and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were markedly below normal in west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, appreciably below normal in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Himachal Pradesh and east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 40.8C recorded at Jhalawar (Rajasthan).
