Two hurt in mishap

Two persons were injured when their scooter (CH-01V-5329) was hit by a Mahindra jeep near Sector 15 this morning. The injured — Pawan Singh and Kunal were rushed to General Hospital, from where they were referred to PGI, Chandigarh.

Man acquitted in minor’s rape case

District and Sessions Judge, M.M.S. Bedi, here today acquitted a local resident, Sushil Kumar, accused of raping a minor girl of Sector 25. According to information, the Judge acquitted Sushil following the statement of the girl that she was not raped by the accused.

Hemant Kinger acquitted of murder charge

Additional Dictrict and Sessions Judge, L.N. Jindal today acquitted Mr Hemant Kinger, General Secretary of the District Congress, in a case of murder. Mr Kinger was accused of killing his wife, Kailash alias Namrata, by poisoning her.
