Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at many places in Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Kahu 3 and Bhuntar Berthein, Bhang, Kasol, Nadaun, Rampur Bushar, Sunni bhajji and Solang Nala 1 each and Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal 2.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, fell in Punjab and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were markedly above normal in east Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, above normal in east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in Punjab. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 39.8ºC recorded at Jhalawar (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Punjab, fell in Himachal Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and normal in Punjab. The lowest minmum temperature in the plains was 11.5ºC recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of March 20: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region. Isolated hailstorm/squall is likely in Haryana. Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 20: Generally cloudy sky with possibility of light rain/ thundershowers accompanied with squall in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 32ºC and 18ºC, respectively.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of March 20: Light rain is likely at a few places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
