Amarinder asks Badal where he stands now

Completion of a hat-trick of triumphs in the byelections held in Punjab since the last Lok Sabha elections has not only helped the Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, climb further up the popularity graph but has also given to the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Parkash Singh Badal, and his Shiromani Akali Dal enough to ponder over the reasons for their falling citadel in the Majha belt.
A jolt for Badal

Defeat of the Akali candidate, Mr Amarpal Singh Boney, in the Ajnala byelection is a jolt to the leadership of the President of the Shiromani Akali Dal, Mr Parkash Singh Badal. Under his leadership, the SAD-BJP combine, which did exceedingly well in the last parliamentary elections, has lost the third byelection in a row by a big margin.
CM seeks to give clean chit to Rana Sodhi

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today sought to give a clean chit to his aide and Parliamentary Secretary Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi by claiming that the earlier complainant in the case was himself claiming that he did not have any grouse against Mr Sodhi.
Kalam to inaugurate Science City on March 19

Student kidnapped, found in nullah

A student of Class XII hailing from Pandori Tadd village in Hoshiarpur was kidnapped by unidentified persons this afternoon and later thrown into a nullah near Anandpur Sahib in Ropar district in the evening.

Cops may face action in land grab cases

Missing merchant returns

PWD officials inspect roads

Senior officials of the PWD today swung into action and inspected the widening of the Ropar-Chamkaur Sahib road along Sirhind canal and the Chamkaur Sahib-Bela road.
