85 pc city buildings vulnerable to quakes

City to have 80 Sehaj Safai Kendras

Chandigarh, February 5
Sanitation facilities in the city are all set for a major facelift with the commissioning of at least a dozen Sehaj Safai Kendras (SSK) for garbage collection later this month. The scheme is part of the ongoing tie-up of the UT Administration with the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

DC issues order on vehicle use
Chandigarh, February 5
Taking action against the reported misuse of the official vehicle by the Chairman of the Market Committee, Chandigarh, the office of the Deputy Commissioner has  issued an order saying “the vehicle should  not be allowed to be taken out of the city without getting written permission from the competent authority”.

Virus affects PNB services

Banking in 870 branches of Punjab National Bank all over the country remained suspended for half an hour, here today. The national network supporting the systems, located in Delhi, developed a snag leading to a complete collapse of the “Anytime, Anywhere Banking” services.

Ruby on self-discovery mission

RUBY Bhatia, VJ-cum actor, is on a sort of pilgrimage. She is on mission to find her identity. She expresses herself philosophically. “I have devoted 11 years to acting and did whatever came my way. I think there was more quantity than quality. Now, I want to relax and do those things with which I harmonise. Whenever I get time, I read books tinged with philosophy,” she says.
