Ludhiana, December 1 Cultural programme Aaghaaz, a variety cultural programme, was put up by students of Sat Paul Mittal School here
yesterday. The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest, Mr Rakesh Pandey, Minister of State for Science and Technology. This was followed by a Vandana . The tiny tots welcomed the guests with a welcome song and also performed on a few popular rhymes. The audience enjoyed the humorous Hindi play 'Wah Birbal'. Mr Prem Nath Gupta, Chairman, Governing Council, Sat Paul Mittal School, presented the school
memento to the chief guest. Seminar Quest Infosys, Regional Learning and Facilitation Centre of Punjab Technical University, organised a seminar today for MBA students at Feroze Gandhi Market. It was organised by the Placement Officer, Ms Monika Dang. Mr Mandish Gill, Focus Marketing Chapter, delivered the guest lecture on 'Changing Marketing Strategies and Work Culture' in which he explained about the origin of the concept of marketing and its relevance in making the product reach the potential customers. He clarified the doubts of students in the interactive session. Highlighting the aspects like growth opportunities in marketing line and how important it is to have right marketing approach, Mr Gill also told the students what kind of opportunities to look for and what they should expect when they actually moved on to start their career after getting their degrees. On this occasion Mr D.S Sekhon, Director, Quest Infosys Pvt. Ltd. Mr Harinder Pal Singh, zonal head, Ms Moniak Dang, placement officer, Ms Paminala Rao, academic head, Ms Deepak Sidhu, MBA faculty were also present. Addressing the students Mr D.S. Sekhon said, "Relationships make the core of every business and taking care of minute details of the need of customer can definitely make a marketing professional attain his objective.” An exhibition of craft items prepared by members of the White Gift Services of Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar, was organised. Students showed immense talent and will power to maintain the glorious tradition of excellence. Students gave a vent to their innovative and creative ideas and created wonderful items in the form of designer candles, pots, cards, bookmarks and diyas that were a treat to watch and reflected different hues of the personality of children. The items were also put on sale. A good response by the parents and visitors at the exhibition resulted in the collection of Rs 8,000. |
Diploma in oral implantology proposed
Ludhiana, December 1 The college report was read by Dr Vikram Prabhakar, Vice-Principal of the college. Dr Prabhakar highlighted the achievements of the college during a short period of time. Dr Prabhakar said the recently opened Oral Implantology Centre in the college had received a tremendous response from patients. Dr Jan Kielhoen, a specialist implantologist from Germany, was also present on the
occasion. A one-year diploma course on oral implantology is proposed to be started soon. The aim of the programme will be to provide specialised training to dental surgeons on dental implants. |

Man, son get 2 years’ jail
Ludhiana, December 1 The orders were pronounced while disposing of a complaint filed by Mr Amarjit Gupta, owner of M/s Amarjit Sales Corporation, Sherpur. It was submitted in the complaint that the accused were partners of M/s M.K. Rajindra Hosiery, Modhopuri, and they had purchased acrylic yarn from Mr Gupta’s firm in 2000. The purchasers issued three cheques for Rs 4, 74,000 with an assurance that the same would be encashed on presentation. But all cheques were dishonoured by bank for lack of sufficient funds in their account. Despite a legal notice served on them, they failed to make the payment. |
