Farmers go on fast in Central Jail
Seek withdrawal of cases

Ludhiana, November 16
As many as 11 farmers who were lodged in Ludhiana Central Jail after the Ralla village incident, went on an indefinite fast on the jail premises here today. They were demanding immediate release of all farmers and withdrawal of all cases against them.

NGOs invited for setting up helpline for women

Robbery bid at industrialist’s house
Ludhiana, November 16
More than 10 armed assailants stormed the house of a noted industrialist, Mr Jagdish Singhal, in Agar Nagar here today afternoon and tried to rob the family of cash and valuables. The family members, however, raised the alarm but the assailants managed to escape.

‘Zen Katha’ to be staged on November 20
Ludhiana, November 16
The Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam will present 'Zen Katha' a fascinating historical play on November 20 in Ludhiana. It will coincide with the fifth anniversary of the samagam. Mr S.K. Rai, general secretary of the LSS, said the body had been instrumental in creating "cultural renaissance" in Punjab.
