Pension policy changed in favour of daughters

Making a change in its pension policy, the Chandigarh Administration has decided that widowed and divorced daughters of deceased employees will be eligible for family pension even after attaining the age of 25.

SCF site auctioned for Rs 1.79 crore

In a record-breaking auction of commercial sites in Mohali today, the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA) earned over Rs 15 crore. In most cases the selling prices of the disposed of sites has recorded a 50 per cent rise in the rates since the last auctions held in February this year.

5 new HC Judges to take oath today

12,677 new voters enrolled

The Deputy Commissioner, Ms Neelam P. Kasni, today said that a many as 12,677 new voters had been enrolled in the voters’ list after they were found eligible, during a special voters’ enrolment drive.

Jeweler kidnapped, alleges wife

A jeweler, Sunil Chauhan, was allegedly kidnapped by an unidentified person on Dasehra night along with Rs 1.1 lakh in cash, 1 kg silver and some gold.

Mother, daughter dupe man of Rs 3.5 lakh

A mother and a daughter of Sector 10 duped a man of Rs 3.5 lakh by giving him a cheque that was later dishonoured due to insufficient funds in their account.
