Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: Jammu and Kashmir: Quazigund and Srinagar 1 each.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell markedly in Jammu and Kashmir, fell in Punjab and west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, below normal in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 34.2°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures change little.

Departure: They were below normal in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 11.2°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 29: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
