Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Haryana and east Rajasthan, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Rajasthan and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Ayanagar 1, Himachal Pradesh: Una 2 and west Rajasthan: Chru 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in east Uttar Pradesh, fell in Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 37.0°C recorded at Hissar.

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures changed little.

Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana and east Rajasthan, above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 18.0°C recorded at Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of October 12: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Haryana and Punjab, at a few places in Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain/snow is likely in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 12: Generally cloudy sky with rain/thundershowers, likely to be nearly heavy in some areas. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 31°C and 20°C respectively.
