New Delhi, October 5
Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in east Rajasthan and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: east Uttar Pradesh: Bhatpurwaghat and Neemsar 1 each and west Uttar Pradesh: Fatehgarh 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose largely in Himachal Pradesh, rose markedly in Punjab, rose appreciably in Uttaranchal, rose in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir and change little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably below normal in west Rajasthan, below normal in Haryana and Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 37.4°C recorded at Sikar (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures changed little. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana, above normal in Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 17.5°C recorded at Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of October 7: Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 7: Partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thundry development light rain in some areas. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 33°C and 23°C, respectively.
