Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, at many places in west Rajasthan and at a few places in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall n cm are: Haryana: Ayanagar 13, New Delhi (Safdarjung) 7, Delhi ridge 6, New Delhi (Palam) 5, Karnal 4 and Hisar 3, Himachal Pradesh: Una 6, Sundarnagar 3 and Bhuntar 2, Jammu and Kashmir: Katra 9, Batote and Jammu 3 each and Srinagar 2, Punjab: Ludhiana 3, Patiala 2, east Rajasthan: Kota 3 and Jaipur 2, west Rajasthan: Sriganganagar 1, east Uttar Pradesh: Balrampur 5, Chandradeepghat and Neemsar 2 each and Gorakhpur, Hanumansetu, Khadda, Kakrahi and Regoli 1 each, west Uttar Pradesh: Hindon 2 and Sarsawa 1 and Uttaranchal: Rudraprayag 7, Uttarkashi 4, Hardwar 3, Joshimath and Tehri 2 each and Marora 1.
Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell largely in Jammu and Kashmir, fell markedly in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, fell appreciably in west Rajasthan, fell in Haryana and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were largely below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, markedly below normal in Punjab and west Rajasthan, below normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 36.2C recorded at Hisar (Haryana).
