KV kabaddi, cricket tourney begins
Chandigarh, September 14 The chief guests, Ms Santosh Mirdha, Education Officer, KVS(CR), declared the meet open after the inaugural function. In the opening kabaddi match, KV No.2, Halwara, defeated KV, Naleti, 45-10. In the second match, KV No. 3, Bhisiana, defeated KV, Hisar, 60-40. In the first cricket match, KV No. 2, Ferozepore, defeated KV, Mullanpur by 10 runs. Football tourney The Kendriya Vidyalaya football meet, Chandigarh Region, was inaugurated by Col V.N. Money, Chairman, VMC, KV No. 1, Chandimandir Cantonment. Seven top teams of their respective clusters are participating in the two-day meet. In the first match, KV Subathu, beat KV AFS, Sirsa, by 4-0. KV No 1, Chandimandir, thrashed KV No. 2 Patiala, 8-0. Vivek Rana scored 5 goals. Kabaddi championship The Chandigarh Kabaddi Association is organising the state Kabaddi championship at Sports Complex, Sector-42, Chandigarh, from September 20 to 22. The criteria for participation for junior/sub-junior(boys & girls) is as under: Junior boys: should be 19 years and born on or after December 31,1985 with body weight below 60 kg. Junior girls : should be 17 years and born on or after December 31,1987, with body weight below 50 kg. Sub-junior boys : should be 16 years old and born on or after December 31,1988, with body weight below 51 kg. Sub-junior girls : should be 14 years old and born on or after December 31,1990 with body weight below 45 kg. Trials to select juniors (boys and girls) will be held on September 16 at 4 p.m. The selected players will attend the training camp and the teams will participate in the 31st junior National Kabaddi Championship for boys and girls to be held in Bangalore from September 30 to October 3. Inter-school tournaments The inter-school tournaments in the disciplines of hockey, badminton, table tennis, roller skating, yoga, archery, lawn tennis and ball badminton in the age groups of 14,17and 19 will be held from September 23 to 27 for boys and September 28 to 30 for girls, as per information given by Secretary Inter-School Tournament Committee (girls and boys). Taekwondo team The following players have been selected to represent the Chandigarh taekwondo team in the 22nd National Sub-Junior Taekwondo Championship to be held from October 1 to 3 at Lucknow: boys: Akash Kaul, Nisheet Chauhan, Pratinav Sardan, Anil Kumar, Vivek Mehra, Sumit R Patel, Gurpreet, Nitiz Grun, Paras, Devya; Girls: Raksha Goswami, Jasleen, Aarti, Sabnam, Chavi Aggarwal, Monika, Astha Sharma, Ramanpreet, Neetu Singh, Shraddha. Prem Kumar, Sundermani Patel, Satyapal Negi, Sudesh Bhardwaj and Mrinal Kumar will accompany the team as manager and coaches, respectively. Five inspectors transferred
Chandigarh, September 14 Inspector Mastan Singh was transferred from VIP Security to Police Lines; Inspector Vijay Kumar from Operation Cell to VIP/Security; Inspector Dhan Raj from Traffic to Operation Cell; Inspector Kehar Singh from Operation Cell to Sector 17 police station as an Additional SHO; and Inspector Parmod Kumar from Police Lines to Traffic. |
