Amritsar PATWARI HELD: Sleuths of the Vigilance Bureau nabbed a patwari, Keshevpal, while taking a bribe of Rs 600 from Gurnam Singh, a resident of Gurdaspur, on the promise of instituting an “inteqal” of a mortgaged place. Addressing the meeting, TWO KILLED: A boy Taranpreet, was killed and his mother, Kamaljeet, and father, Jasvir Singh, were seriously injured when a tractor-trailer hit their scooter near Aslamabad on Thursday night. Kamaljeet and Jasvir Singh were admitted to the local Civil Hospital, where Kamaljeet succumbed to her injuries. The Sadar police has registered a case against the tractor-trailer driver. KIDNAPPED: A Bihari migrant on Friday kidnapped the two-and-a-half-year-old son of another migrant from the state in Chakowal Brahimina village of the district in a bid to recover Rs 2,000 from the father of the child, the police said. Bunty was allegedly kidnapped by Lal Babu from outside the hut of Vinod Kumar when the latter and his wife were away. The Bhullowal police has registered a case against Lal Babu. Jalandhar |
