Man accuses police of torture
Ludhiana, May 27
Sanjay, a resident of New Shiv Puri, who was allegedly subjected to torture at Basti Jodhewal police station in Ludhiana on Tuesday.Over a hundred residents of New Shiv Puri colony staged a demonstration before Basti Jodhewal police station today in protest against the picking up of an area resident, who was allegedly subjected to inhuman torture in the police custody by an ASI and three other unidentified policemen last night.

The district police today booked an employee of the district courts malkhanna, on the charges of criminal breach of trust leading to the misappropriation of Rs 4.66 lakh from the malkhana accounts after the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mr Arunvir Vashisht, detected the fraud and complained to the police.

Odeyah Industries Ltd, based in Israel, launched its premium range of Dead Sea products, (Mineral Line) here today. Odeyah Industries has tied up with India’s Goodlife Healthcare and Hygiene Pvt Ltd. “Mineral Line” has a presence in 18 countries, a company spokesperson claimed.
