Man gets 11 years’ RI for possessing charas

The Additional Session Judge of Sonepat, Mr Dharamvir Singh, yesterday convicted an accused, Rajbir, of Rajlu Garhi village under the NDPS Act and sentenced him to undergo 11 years’ rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 1 lakh. In case of default of payment of fine he was to undergo further 14 months’ rigorous imprisonment for possessing contraband charas.

Warrants issued against smuggler, two others who gave bail amount
Sonepat, May 15
The Additional Sessions Judge, Mr J. S. Jangra, has issued warrants against three persons, namely Narinder of Harsana village and Dharamvir of Bholapur village who had furnished bail bonds of Rs 50,000 each for the release of Mohammad Tyab, a smuggler of fake currency notes, on one-month interim bail and fixed May 26 as the next date of hearing.
