To inject a fair dose of Sanskar (culture) in school curricula in NCT of Delhi as part of its efforts to make education more representative of “Indian traditions and values”, activities strengthening sacrament and behaviour will be initiated in all the schools of the Delhi, says the Delhi Vision Document 2004 released by the Delhi Pradesh BJP.

With the arrest of Ms Kanwaljeet Kaur, alias Sonia (25), the North-West district police claims to have solved the murder-cum-attempt to murder case, which occurred on May 3 in the Pitampura area. Incidentally, the accused was the daughter-in-law of the victim, Saudagar Singh (72).

65 fire incidents in April, farmers suffer losses

Incidents of fire during this harvesting season, have, reportedly, led to huge losses to farmers in the district. More than 90 farmers in the district have suffered losses of around Rs two crore as standing (wheat) crop got burnt and agricultural machines and husk got damaged in incidents of fire.

Rs 2.2 lakh worth drafts looted
Sonepat, May 4
Two unidentified armed miscreants are reported to have assaulted Mr Ram Kumar, resident of Barwasni village, and snatched from him Rs 47,700 in cash, bank drafts worth Rs 2.2 lakh and self-cheques worth Rs 20,000, while he was on his way to Gohana road here yesterday.

With the arrest of three suspects, the East district police today claimed to have busted a gang of dacoits and averted a sensational dacoity in the house of a jeweller in Gandhi Nagar area. The suspects were identified as Ravi, Sushil Kumar and Ikram.

Tempo loaded with wheat driven away

A tempo driver reportedly fled with 25 quintals wheat, six quintals of sarson and two quintals of barley, worth several thousands of rupees last night. According to a report lodged with the police by Mr Krishan, a farmer of Pai village, he had hired the tempo to take his produce to the Narela (Delhi) mandi.

Petition seeks provision of polling booths for relocated voters
New Delhi, May 4
An independent candidate from the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency today approached the Delhi High Court seeking direction to the Election Commission and the Centre to arrange polling booths for the May 10 polls within a radius of 2.5 km for about 50,000 voters, who were recently “forced out” of the constituency due to a demolition drive.

Indian Airlines defeated Gush Club by six wickets to enter the final of the Davinder Singh Memorial Cricket Tournament at the Harbaksh Singh Stadium.
Batting first, Gush Club made 210 for 5 in 40 overs, with the help of a 120-run third-wicket stand between Radhey Shyam and Sumit Dogra.
